I'm getting down the wire for my M.A., with only two classes remaining before starting my thesis. I've been doing "okay" in my classes so far, but I have no earthly idea on what I'm going to do for my thesis in history. For now, I need to concentrate on my final classes.
I have one last assignment left for HUX 580 - The Ancient Near East, but it's a doozy:
Rameses II celebrated a great military victory against the Hittites at Kadesh (or Qadesh) in the fifth year of his reign. Reconstruct the (1) situation putting the two empires at odds, (2) the characteristics of the two armies (3) the battle itself and (4) its consequences (which culminated in a treaty a dozen years later).
However, I have two assignments remaining for HUX 574 - The Age of Revolution, although they comprise four separate papers. There is a slightly interesting story behind this class regarding my grades. When I contacted the graduate program adviser she confirmed what I expected, the grade given was the final, not an incomplete grade as deserved. I was honest with her and now have an extra four papers this semester to finish (which was, obviously, the right thing to do).
Although, I will be officially done with my classwork, I'm still going to sign-up for HUX 572 - The Biblical Movement next semester. This is always been an area of interest for me and this looks like a good examination of the topic.
Now if I can just figure out a way to stop time like "The Girl, the Gold Watch and Everything" I would be set. By the way, if you remember that movie you deserve a gold star. If you actually have seen it, you get double secret probation bonus points.
